Five steps, start to finish
Getting new windows or doors should be straightforward. With Wortley Windows it is. We’re a family-run firm based in Lower Wortley (LS12), and James has been fitting windows across Leeds for over 20 years. Donna runs the office and sorts your quote. There’s no call centre and no pushy salesman knocking on doors. Here’s how the whole thing works.
Step 1 — Get in touch
Give us a ring on 07967 667535, or fill in the quick quote form and we’ll come back to you. Tell us roughly what you’re after: a couple of windows, a new front door, a full house. You don’t need to know the technical details. Donna will take a few notes and book James in to come and have a proper look. There’s nothing to commit to at this stage, and no pressure to decide anything on the phone.
Step 2 — James comes for a free survey
We turn up and measure up properly. He’ll look at the state of your existing frames, check the openings, talk through your options, and answer your questions honestly. Because he’s the one who’ll be fitting the job, he’s surveying it through a fitter’s eyes, not a salesman’s. If something won’t work, he’ll tell you. If there’s a cheaper way to get what you want, he’ll point it out. The survey is free, and it’s yours whether you decide to go ahead or not.

Step 3 — An honest written quote
After the survey you get a clear, written quote. It spells out what you’re getting and what it costs, with no hidden extras bolted on later. We won’t inflate the price so we can pretend to drop it. The number we give you is the number.
If you’d like a rough idea before James visits, here are typical Leeds prices, supplied and fitted. Treat these as a guide, not a quote — every house is different:
- uPVC windows — around £900 to £1,500 per window
- Composite doors — around £1,500 to £2,500
- Bay windows — around £1,500 to £3,500
- Bi-fold doors — from around £3,000, up to £10,000+ for larger spans
- A full 3-bed semi (8 to 10 windows) — around £5,000 to £12,000
The average home in LS12 sits at an EPC rating of D, and over half across the area are rated D to G, so newer windows often make a noticeable difference to draughts and warmth. If you’d rather not pay it all up front, you can spread the cost with finance. Your quote is yours to think over — there’s no time-limited discount forcing your hand.
Step 4 — Our team fits it
When you’re ready to go ahead, our own team does the work. The same person who quoted the job carries it out, so nothing gets lost between a salesman’s promise and the fitter’s reality. We turn up when we say we will, treat your home with respect, clear up after ourselves, and take the old frames away. Whatever you’ve chosen gets fitted properly, first time.
Step 5 — Your CERTASS certificate and 10-year guarantee
Once the job’s done, your installation is registered under CERTASS, a government-authorised competent-person scheme. That means the work is self-certified to Building Regulations and registered for you — there’s no separate council application to chase. CERTASS does the same job as FENSA. You get your certificate, and every installation is covered by our 10-year guarantee. We’re based right here in Leeds and we’re not going anywhere, so if you ever need us after the job, you know where we are.
Where we work
We’re in Lower Wortley (LS12) and cover Leeds and the surrounding area — Pudsey, Bramley, Armley, Kirkstall, Horsforth, Farsley, Stanningley, Calverley and Morley among them. We’re rated 5.0 out of 5 from 72 five-star reviews on Birdeye. Sponsoring Norristhorpe Juniors FC and supporting the Raising Smiles charity is our way of putting a bit back into the place we work.
